James Horace Ivey (1881-1963) was my grandfather. His Delayed Certificate of Birth dated Sept 27, 1943, states that his parents were JAMES PERRY IVEY, born in AL and MOSURIA JENETT CARR, born in MS. The affidavit testifying to this was signed by a close neighbor, Emma Ivey Harris.

I am at a dead end as to the parents of JAMES PERRY IVEY. Any help is appreciated.

My grandfather was married to SARAH JANE ANDERSON (1881-1964) whose parents were JOHN WILLIAM ANDERSON and MARY CATHERINE IVY (daughter of Michael W. "Mike" Ivy.)

I didn't find any records that would help you. Send me county & state locations for any of these names and I will do some more checking. (Also any known siblings). If you would like to be included in our Ivey research group (about 441 in our email group) send me your email address, your Ivey line ancestor names and birth dates, and any DNA tests with any Gedmatch Kit numbers.

The Tracker data base lists records for four more generations after James Horace Ivy who is born 1881 in Clarke MS. You can download the Tracker database at this web site. You will still need to prove the connection. ATDNA may help. Do you have a DNA test? Tracker lists the following pedigree (James, James, Mary, Michael, Stephen Ivey 1850 Choctaw AL, & John Ivey Franklin GA.

Re: JAMES HORACE IVEY

I have taken a DNA test through Ancestry and uploaded the information to GEDMatch. My GEDMatch Kit No. is A387626.

Thanks, Duane.
